Dear Scholarship Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the Cheza, Inc. Book Scholarship Program. This program is administered by Cheza Inc., a California non-profit community health organization. Every complete application received by the required deadline will be given a fair and careful evaluation. Awards are given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, disability, or national origin. All information will be held in strict confidence by Cheza. Applicants must have attended High School in California or will be attending a California Trade School/College this school year. All applications become the property of Cheza and cannot be returned.

Cheza reserves the right to process only those applications found to be completed by the application postmark deadline. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION IN ONE COMPLETE PACKAGE. Guidelines are as follows:
Guidelines and Application
The Cheza TJR Book Scholarship Program was created to assist students with the high cost of textbooks and study materials. Awards are open to individuals ages 16 & over who are planning to attend or are currently attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university, or technical/ vocational institution. Up to 10 awards are given annually, students may reapply each year.
Application Process
- Applicants must complete online form
- Applicant must attach a high school or college transcript of grades (both official & unofficial). **You can take picture with your phone and upload if necessary.
- Application must be received by May 31st.
Selection Process and Notification
Scholarship recipients are selected according to merit on a competitive basis. The number of scholarships awarded will be based on Cheza selection procedures and available funds. Not all applicants will receive awards. Although the committee will make every effort to notify all applicants of their status, only scholarship finalists are guaranteed to be contacted by the selection committee.
Award & Payment
Awards will be issued as a one-time stipend of $100-$2500 each year. Awards are paid in one installment and will either be awarded in person or mailed to students home before September 10, 2024. Checks are payable to recipient.
